Eric & His Dad's Special Day!

2 weeks ago Eric had the amazing opportunity to baptize his dad!  Eric's mom and dad moved to Utah for a job after they got married, not knowing much of the church.  When Eric was 9 his parents divorced and have since both remarried.  A few years later his mom got baptized and married Rich, who had introduced her to the church.  A few years later Eric and his sister, Ashley, were baptized.

However, Eric's dad was not always warm to the idea of his kids getting baptized and especially Eric serving a mission.  This day was years in the making, from having LDS friends and colleagues to a few years ago marrying a member of the church, Troie!  She has been a wonderful influence in his life, along with Eric and Ashley being open to sharing their testimonies with him.

The news of Alan getting baptized came all in a whirlwind...He called Eric to tell him he was invited to take the discussions by one of his steak president members and he had accepted!  A week or 2 later he called Eric to ask if he would baptize him 3 weeks later!  wow! I guess it just took someone putting him up to the challenge!  His conversion has been so special to witness and we are so excited to see him grow in the gospel! 

Hopefully in a year from now he will be sealed to his wife, Troie, in this wonderful temple! (which just happens to be in their backyard!)
